REIKI TREATMENTS

Why Reiki? Because a Reiki treatment is acknowledged by many as being both relaxing and deeply healing. A treatment starts with an opportunity for you to talk. Reiki is then carried out with you lying on a couch, fully clothed in a warm, fragrant room. It's a time to just let the cares of the day drift away - you might even doze off. The Reiki touch is gentle, light and avoids any intrusive areas allowing you to feel safe and comfortable. You might get a sense of heat, tingling, coolness or other sensations as the energy is directed to where it is needed but it's not at all uncomfortable. Reiki healing encompasses all aspects from relaxation to deep healing and you will find it being offered in hospices and hospitals throughout the country. Reiki treatment (1 hr)

REIKI ATTUNEMENTS

To become a Reiki healer, you don't need any special skills or qualities - you just need to be attuned to the healing energies all around you. Once you are attuned, you are a channel for these energies for life - all you then have to do is to place your hands on or above the person or animal you are treating for them to feel the benefit.

What is Reiki? Reiki as practiced in the West today, is an ancient art re-discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the 1800's. Brought to the West as a healing art, it has grown in popularity to the extent now that most people have at least heard of it, even if they're not too sure what it is.

Reiki is the vital life energy which flows through all living things and which can be activated for the purpose of healing. Reiki practitioners believe that everyone has the ability to connect to their own healing energy and use it for the purposes of strengthening the Ki (or life energy) of others.

The Reiki therapist channels the Ki through his or her hands to the recipient, activating the body's natural ability to heal itself. When a person's Ki is strong and flowing freely, the body and mind are in a positive state of health. However, the vital energy may become weak or blocked, and this may lead to symptoms on a physical or emotional level.

A Reiki practitioner will have received 'attunements' to open their healing channels. At Level I a Reiki healer is able to treat family, friends, pet and even plants - see below for more details. Level II allows you to practice as a healer and charge for your services. The next levels are Reiki Master and Reiki Teacher. (Please contact me direct for more info on Level II and above)

What does being attuned mean? A Reiki Master/Teacher has reached a stage whereby they are able to "tune you into the healing energies" by placing the Reiki symbols in your aura. That's why you don't need any special skills or qualities. You just have to be open and receptive to the process.

A Reiki Level I course takes place over a full day plus a follow up session allowing plenty of time for you to learn how to give yourself a Reiki treatment and how to treat others. Each group is small but needs to consist of at least two to enable students to practise on each other.
